Is The Winter Gardens free to get in?

Yes. Entry is free for everyone. You only pay for what you do: ice skating, fairground rides, the circus, food and drink.

When is The Winter Gardens open?

Saturdays and Sundays from 21 November to 13 December 2026, then every day from Thursday 17 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. Closed Christmas Day and Monday 14 to Wednesday 16 December.

Where is it?

Beckenham Place Park, Beckenham BR3 1SY, in the London Borough of Lewisham. The nearest station is Beckenham Hill, less than five minutes' walk from the park entrance.

Do I need to book ice skating?

We recommend it. Weekend and Christmas sessions sell out. Any spaces left are sold on the day at the rink.

How long is an ice skating session?

Sessions start on the hour and give you 45 minutes on the ice. Skate hire is included and helmets are free.

Can young children skate?

Yes, from age 3. Under 13s need an adult on the ice with them. Penguin skate aids are available.

Is the circus big top heated?

Yes. The Revel Puck Circus big top is fully heated and covered, so it is warm whatever the weather.

How long is the circus and who is it for?

The festive Extravaganza is one hour with no interval, made for all ages.

Are there animals in the circus?

No. The Revel Puck Circus has never used animals. Just people doing brilliant things.

When does the circus perform?

17 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 on most days, with two or three shows a day between 11am and 4pm. Book on Tixr.

Who runs the fairground?

The fairground rides are run by Bottons Fairs, a family of showpeople.

How do I get there and is there parking?

Beckenham Hill station is under five minutes' walk. Ravensbourne and Beckenham Junction stations are also nearby, and buses 54, 136, 181, 208, 320 and 354 stop close to the park. The park car park off Beckenham Hill Road is small, pay and display, and free for blue badge holders for four hours, so we recommend public transport.

What if it rains?

The rink runs in light rain and the big top is fully covered and heated. If we cancel a session for weather, we will move you or refund you.
